What it does#
SuperTrend uses price and average true range to determine a trend direction. The strategy catalog describes entries around direction changes.
Its output depends on the candle interval and price history. A visually similar external indicator can differ if its formula or initialization differs.
Settings#
| Field | Observed form fallback | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| ATR Period | 10 | Window used for volatility estimation |
| ATR Multiplier | 3 | Multiplier applied to the ATR-based distance |
| Timeframe | Account-dependent | Candle interval |
Changing the multiplier changes the indicator calculation; it is not the same as changing a fixed stop-loss distance.
Configure a session#
Choose SuperTrend from the available catalog, set the signal fields, and then review the instrument, order size, risk controls, and schedule. Use the execution modes offered by your account.
Read the monitor#
Compare the current direction, the time of the eligible event, and the resulting order. A direction remaining unchanged is different from a new direction-change event.
Troubleshooting#
If your reference chart differs, match the instrument, interval, candles, and settings. If the strategy has no entry, check whether it is awaiting a new signal or enough history, and inspect any displayed rejection or restriction.
