Settings dictionary

Look up common builder fields and understand what their values control.

Identity and market#

Field Meaning
Name Your label for finding this algorithm
Exchange The market used for instrument selection
Instrument The selected underlying or security
Timeframe The candle interval used by the signal rules
Execution Type Whether the order targets the offered equity, future, or option product
Trade Direction The directions allowed by the strategy configuration
Execution Mode Paper simulation or eligible Live execution

Available values come from the app's current capabilities. Do not assume every exchange supports every strategy or interval.

Contract and sizing#

Field Meaning
Expiry selection How the derivative's expiry is chosen
Specific expiry An explicitly selected contract date
Strike Offset A relative option strike selection; use the selector's units and permitted values
Lots Number of contract lots
Quantity Units or shares; not necessarily the same as lots
Order Type The order behavior exposed for the selected product

See contracts and sizing before changing these values.

Risk fields#

Field Unit or interpretation
Target Rupees or points, as selected by Target Unit
Stop Loss Rupees or points, as selected by Stop Loss Unit
Trailing Stop Separate enabled/disabled control
Trailing Distance Rupees, points, or percentage according to Trailing Type
Maximum Daily Loss Rupees in the shared indicator builder
Maximum Daily Profit Rupees in the shared indicator builder

For value-driven target, stop, and daily-limit inputs, a positive number enables the rule. Zero, blank, or an absent value does not enable it. Do not interpret zero as a zero-loss guarantee.

Schedule fields#

Entry Start Time controls the beginning of the entry window. Trading End Time stops new entries. Mandatory Square-Off Time is the separate control shown for eligible derivative positions.

Maximum Trades and waiting-period controls limit activity; they do not guarantee an order will occur. See scheduling.

Defaults and validation#

Always review the value actually shown in your form. Saved algorithms can retain older values, and defaults can change by strategy. Strategy pages describe observed form defaults where available, not universal recommended settings.
