Before you begin#
Upstox connects through SSAlgo's own Upstox app, so you do not create an app or enter app credentials. You only need access to your Upstox login.
Open Broker settings in SSAlgo and locate the Upstox card. If the card says it is not available on this deployment yet, Upstox cannot be connected for your account at the moment.
Connect your account#
- Choose Connect Upstox.
- Complete Upstox's sign-in and authorization.
- Return to SSAlgo after the redirect.
- Check the card's status and the account identity shown.
Enter your Upstox login details only on Upstox's own pages. SSAlgo never asks for them in its own forms or in support requests.
Daily reconnection#
Upstox sessions expire daily, typically early in the morning. When the card shows Session expired, use Reconnect before the trading day. See reconnecting a broker.
Live orders through Upstox#
At the time of this review, SSAlgo places Live orders through Alice Blue and Fyers. An Upstox connection can be authorized, but Live order placement through Upstox is not yet supported. Run strategies in Paper mode, or connect a supported broker for Live.
If the card shows Live trading isn't available for this broker yet, that is the reason the Use Upstox for Live button is disabled. Check documentation updates for changes to broker support.
If connection fails#
If the browser never returns, reopen Broker settings and inspect the status before retrying. For a repeated failure, note the exact error and time, then follow broker troubleshooting.
