143

An EMA crossover strategy with an optional EMA trend filter.

How the signal works#

The builder describes a BUY signal when Fast EMA crosses above Slow EMA, and a SELL signal when it crosses below. A crossover is a change in their relative position, not simply the fast average remaining above or below the slow one.

The execution direction, contract, start behavior, schedule, and risk rules still determine whether a signal results in an entry.

Settings#

Field What to check
Fast EMA Shorter smoothing period; the form minimum is 2
Slow EMA Longer smoothing period; the form minimum is 3
EMA Trend Filter No Ema or With Ema
EMA Period The additional filter period when enabled
Timeframe The supported candle interval for this strategy

Follow the form's period relationship validation. The number 143 is the strategy's display name; it is not an instruction to enter those numbers as periods.

Example#

Suppose the fast EMA was below the slow EMA on the previous evaluation and is above it on the next eligible evaluation. That is the bullish crossover described in the builder. It does not by itself establish that an option or future order was filled.

Exit and monitoring#

Configure risk controls and schedule settings separately. Review the session monitor to distinguish the signal from an entry, an exit request, or a completed fill.

If there is no entry#

Check whether you selected New Signal, whether a fresh crossover occurred, and whether the entry window and risk rules permit the trade.

Continue with risk controls, start and stop, or feature availability.
