Start a saved algorithm#
Find the algorithm in the list, review its mode and configuration, and choose Start. Open the monitor to inspect the resulting session rather than relying only on the action message.
The start may be refused if active-algorithm capacity, required setup, configuration, or runtime checks are not satisfied. Read the returned reason before retrying. See messages and recovery for the common ones.
Starting before the market opens#
You can start a Freedom Fighter algorithm before the market opens on a trading day. The session waits in Waiting for entry and enters after the open, once a fresh price is available. It does not enter on the previous day's price.
If a Live readiness check fails at the open, for example the broker session has expired, the entry is postponed and retried rather than cancelled. Reconnect the broker and watch the monitor.
On a holiday, a weekend, or after the close, the start is refused with the reason. Start it again on the next trading day.
Why a running session can wait#
A session can be running while waiting for a fresh signal, valid market data, a trading window, or an eligible execution opportunity. “Running” does not mean “position open.”
New Signal waits for a fresh eligible event. Current Signal, where offered, can evaluate the existing eligible signal. Switching a running session to Current Signal can place an entry immediately after confirmation.
Stop a session#
- Select Stop for the algorithm.
- Read the confirmation for that strategy.
- Confirm the request once.
- Inspect the monitor's session state, exit orders, and positions.
- For Live execution, compare remaining exposure with the broker if the result is unclear.
The shared list warns that stopping may square off positions. Stock Basket explicitly requests square-off of confirmed open exposure.
Transitional states#
Stopping means the stop workflow is still winding down. Stopping entries indicates entry activity is being halted; it does not by itself prove that exposure is zero.
Treat a stop acknowledgement as acceptance of the request, not confirmation of every broker fill.
Pause and delete#
Use the controls actually shown by your strategy. The verified shared algorithm list has Start and Stop; this handbook does not assume a universal Pause action.
A running algorithm must be stopped before deletion in the list. Deleting saved configuration is not a substitute for closing a position.
If the state does not settle#
Review order states and support reporting. Avoid repeated starts or stops while an earlier request has an unresolved outcome.
