Connect SMC Global

SMC Global connects through SSAlgo's own ACE API app, so there are no API keys to create or paste.

Before you begin#

Turn on TOTP for your SMC account at acetrade.smctradeonline.com (Enable TOTP). The SMC login asks for it.

SMC's API has no BSE derivatives, so SENSEX and BANKEX options and futures cannot be traded through SMC. MCX orders through SMC are not enabled yet.

Connect#

  1. Open Broker settings and find SMC Global.
  2. Choose Connect SMC Global. You are taken to the SMC login page.
  3. Log in with your SMC client ID, password and TOTP.
  4. You are brought back to SSAlgo. If the page says it is finishing the login, wait a moment.
  5. Check the account name and status. Run Health check to confirm SSAlgo can read your profile and funds.

Daily login#

SMC sessions end with the trading day. Reconnect SMC each trading day before your algos need to place orders. See reconnection and expired sessions.

What a connected status means#

It records authentication. It does not confirm order permissions, contract availability, quote readiness, or successful execution for a strategy.

Common setup issues#

  • SMC rejected the login: SMC may not have enabled your account on SSAlgo's app yet. Try again later or contact support.
  • The SMC login has expired: start Connect SMC Global again and finish within a few minutes.
  • Session expired after a working day: reconnect; SMC sessions do not carry over to the next day.
