Build a strategy

Create an algorithm

Follow SSAlgo's six-step builder from instrument selection to a saved strategy.

Choose the strategy#

Open the algorithm list and choose Create Algo. Select an exchange and a strategy that is available in your account.

The strategy catalog includes 143, Bollinger Bands, MACD, RSI, SuperTrend, Double HalfTrend, Freedom Fighter, and Stock Basket. Visibility and Live availability depend on enabled capabilities.

The six steps#

Step What to decide
Market and Instrument Which market and underlying the strategy uses
Strategy and Signal Rules What produces a signal and the timeframe used
Trade and Order Configuration What contract is executed and how it is sized
Risk Management The limits and exit settings for this strategy
Schedule and Execution Entry window, square-off behavior, and Paper or Live mode
Review and Create Whether the complete configuration matches your intent

Read the unit and helper text beside each field. Resolve validation errors at the step where they appear.

Signals and execution are separate#

The strategy decides when a signal is eligible. The order configuration decides what would be traded. Risk and scheduling controls can prevent a signal from becoming an order.

For example, changing an option strike changes the execution contract; it does not change the definition of an EMA crossover.

Review before saving#

Check the strategy name, instrument, execution mode, lot or quantity values, expiry, risk units, and trading window. Pay special attention to zero-valued risk settings: the value-driven controls treat a positive value as enabled.

Saving the form is not the same as confirming an executed order. Inspect the list and use the available start action when you intend to run the strategy.

Continue with a reference#

Use the settings dictionary for shared controls and the strategy-specific pages in the sidebar for signal settings.
